Greetings from Oz
These are the slippers that I made for my daughter for Xmas - as yet she hasn't got them as she was stuck in Cumbria due to the snow & ice which everyone back home is suffering from! & so didn't make it over to her Auntie & Uncle's in York for the family Boxing Day celebrations. The slippers are knitted using a pattern and wool from the Wool Shop in Armley Leeds. The pattern says garter stitch but after seeing Maddys slippers made using moss stitch which looked really funky I chose to do them in moss stitch too.
These are the slippers that I made once I got to Oz - my Mums pressie and as I couldn't be sneaky I just knitted them & was rather 'vague' about who they were for! *giggle* She has been wearing them despite it being summer here as it gets down to a 'chilly' 13 degrees at night! LOL It is lovely to see the sunshine & have a bit of warmth it's been averaging a comfortable 25/26 degree's but went up to about 36 degrees one day :-)
I then made the small pair for the smallest member of the family at the Xmas Day celebrations - see how cute they are! They had to remain plain as I ran out of wool & didn't have my craft room to delve into for embellishments but they looked really cute anyway.

Jewellery making
I've been under the weather for a few days & confined to bed. As with most crafters couldn't just lie there so got out my beading stuff & maanaged to make some bracelets & necklaces for pressies. The bracelets are knitted wire & the necklaces crocheted. Aren't they effective? My friends daughter showed me how to make the knitted bracelet & I found the crocheted necklace instructions on YouTube at Aunties Beads whilst amusing myself surfing the net.
And here are sneak peaks of a couple of other necklaces .............................. don't want to give the whole game away as they are for presents & people may peak! :-)
Using black wire ........................................
And silver wire & a mixture of chunkier beads for this one ....................

New Crafter!
This is our new crafter - my MIL (holding Abel my daughter's pug)
This is the wonderful card she made (note the use of buttons & pearls!)
She even decorated the inside!!!
Didn't she do a great job!? It was our Pearl (30th) Wedding Anniversary this week & this is us 'now & then!') Have we improved with age? The photo is about 5 months after our wedding at SIL & BIL's wedding & I was expecting our firstborn :-)

Sympathy card
Today was a sad day as my SIL's mother died this morning in Australia, so I made a sympathy card to send over. The flower stands proud so I've also made a box to protect it on the way to Australia.
Onto the black matt I put a square of patterned vellum which I secured with vellum adhesive. I did the same for the sentiment. I cut out the cross freehand, mounted it with sticky fixers & added the flower & pearls to finish.

First Xmas Cards
I bought some of these brass charms & decided to have a play with them. I used alcohol inks & copic pen to colour them.
I used just copic pen on the first.
And the others I used alcohol ink & copic pen to colour. I mounted the snowman on matts cut by punches on a scalloped nestibility.
And stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment straight onto the card.

Altered Singles book
The Cover
'Tis son's birthday today & I made him a book celebrating his new band DeLorean Drivers. For the covers I used old single records. I had no problems using my Bind it All to cut through the records. I used the outside cover of the record trimmed down & stuck to the front as a base.
Inside cover & first page
A few close up's of pages.
A full page.
I kept things fairly simple & 'boyish'
The last page is a pocket to store the singles - with room for more!
The back cover.
You may have gathered that the band colours are red & black! :-)

Challenge Card
This is my card for the Afternoon Tea Challenge over on Crafts by Carolyn forum. I rescued the doyles from a visit to a tea shop & made the flower from a chocolate wrapper, using a button for the middle. The chipboard paisley embellishment I alcohol inked. I chalked the doiley with my pastel shimmer chalks, which got their first outing for a while :-)

Birthday Card
It's our nephew's birthday early next week so this is the card that I've made him. He has recently got back from his World Trip to take up his place at Exeter Uni to do his Masters Degree.
Sorry for the photo - I had to take it last night in less than ideal conditions & I'm not reknowned for my clever photography at the best of times! LOL
The image I used is the Surfing Chevy from Cornish Heritage Farms which I coloured with Copic's & used one of the charms that I bought in Australia ages ago. I again used an old map as a background paper, which I inked the edges of & used my nestibilities for the red mat base.

Copics challenge 34
This is my entry for this weeks Copics challenge. I used one of the cute stamped images that I received in the Xmas stamped image swap on the Crafts by Carolyn forum and of course coloured it with Copics. I used PaperArtsy Rum & Raisin papers. I used 2 Martha Stewart punches, the edge punch which I threaded ribbon through & the branch punch. The sentiment is the Xmas Magnolia stamp.

Winning card
I'm thrilled that I won the Challenge with a prize sponsored by CaroLines on Crafts by Carolyn's forum. The theme was summer & we had to make a card depicting the theme. There were some lovely entries :-)
I coloured the stamped image with my Copics & layered the cut out butterfly stamp.

Crafter on holiday!
Yes folks my craft trolley went on holiday to Cornwall with me :-) I had to be quite creative as I didn't have a lot of crafting goodies with me but managed to play happily :-) I had one craft & pamper day when hubby went off bike riding for the day, other days we went out sightseeing together. The accommodation has a jacuzzi bath which I had to make good use of .................................. & I set up on one of the two sofa's to craft, as you can see I made myself at home :-)
