Used my 8 Copics again!

Sticky fixers Craft Club last Thursday was fun. I used my 8 copic markers to colour the Sarah Kay image - isn't it cute? I then borrowed the yellow for the birdies. I was pleased with what I managed to achieve with so few copics :-) This is a much better attempt than my first attempt & as with most things I will get better with practice :-) The image was stamped onto card that was cut with nestabilities on the Cuttlebug.

The image was then matted & mounted onto a gatefold card.

Notebook cover

Covered a small notebook using a recipe that Carolyn gave us over on Crafts by Carolyn. It isn't a card so doesn't count for the challenge but I used the recipe :- 2 different ribbons, checks, flowers more than 3, and the colour green somewhere on your card.

Card made using my few Copics

This is the quick card I made to test out my new Copic pens. I have 3 blue shades, 3 pink shades & one flesh & one light brown. I didn't have long but couldn't resits having a quick play & I needed to make a card :-)

Will do better next time Maddy! :-)

Craft Club makes

It was a free week at Sticky Fixers Craft Club yesterday and between the gabbing, biscuit eating & cuppa drinking I managed to make a couple of cards. The first on was for the Crafts by Carolyn card challenge What no red. A Valentines card without using the traditional red or pink. I layered the bird stamp after cutting it out & fixing with sticky fixers.

The second one was a Birthday card with an Oriental theme. I stamped the background paper with the oriental character stamp & then stamped the figure & sentiment on the pink paper cut out & inked the edges, fixing them to the card with sticky fixers - appropriate as I was at Sticky Fixers craft club :-)

Back Crafting!

Sorry for being absent in the blogging world but unfortunately real life took over & I didn't manage to visit my craft room for over a week! I was getting major withdrawal symptoms!!

So today I made a card for the Crafts by Carolyn challenge - it fits in challenge 83 What no red, a Valentines & also 85 Getting Sentimental :-)

The larger hearts were stamped & then cut out & mounted on sticky fixers. The smaller hearts I punched out with my heart punch.

It was great to get back into being creative again :-)

Decision made!

Yes I decided on a smaller project :-) In fact I decided to join in the challenge on the Object D'art challenge - this week - the book.

This is what I started with .....................................

And this is the end result ........................................ The paperback covers were reinforced with mountboard which I overlapped the actual cover size. They were then distressed & inked with distress inks & then stamped & embellished.

Spine view ............................................................. note I used some of the offcut paper from the inside to cover the spine & used distress inks.

And the inside. I hollowed it out & reinforced the edges with mountboard which I covered with inked paper from the cut out & again inked with distress inks.
