Hubby's Valentine Card

This is the card that I've made for hubby for Valentines Day.

I used a brass stencil in my Big Shot to produce the Celtic embossing on the front of the card

and stamped the sentiment directly onto the front.

I then added the heart which I made from chipboard & embossing powders

Simple but elegant I hope :-)

Sad time

An old friend rang me this week to tell me some really tragic news

She had rung me & told me last year that her hubby had died due to an unexpected heart attack - so sad .....

This phone all was to tell me that their daughter (only child) had been killed in a car accident .......

I can't believe it ....

Sam was only a few years older than my own children & had babysat for them, as well as her father & her being Cub leaders for my son & his friends

shaping their lives & the people they have become

So at this very sad time I have made a card & written one of the most difficult letters of my life ..............

My Random Swap effort ...

Over at UK Stampers I joined in with the Random Swap project

We were each sent 5 random items to make an art work with

These were my 5 random items ......

And this is what I made .......

I used the wire to make a heart which i used as a bent frame for part of the picture I was given.

Remember Valentines Day is on Monday!

I added the sentiment stamped onto the paper I was given

 & backed onto the paper strip which I coloured with distress ink 

The backing paper I stamped with the word stamp & 'distressed' with different coloured distress inks.

I cut the hearts from the double sided paper provided, using both sides of the paper & then stamped them with gold ink with the heart stamp

Mounted the silver embellishment onto the coloured strip ..

At the bottom left I added another matted element with 3 brown pearls.

A Santa for Hazel

for her Xmas challenge blog.....

This time she has asked for a Santa on the card

so here is mine.........

using my Paper Artsy stamp stamped in brown ink 

& matted onto a red boarder. 

I inked the edges for a vintage look in keeping with the stamp.

The Merry Xmas sentiment was treated in the same way 

& mounted on top of the ribbon with the brown pearls added.

I made her this picture

using co-ordinating papers

The flowers are punched out with large pearl brads for the centres

and the butterfly's are my trusty Martha Stewart butterfly punch.

The leaves are my Martha Stewart branch punch.

The birthday card .... ..

Went for pretty with the card

I covered the numbers with the background paper & inked the edges & mounted them on the circles which were cut with my nesties & placed on top of one another.

folded over the corner & secured with a large pearl brad. Backed the corner with blue bazil card, & inked the edges

I added the blooms 2 toning & one larger contrast.

Added the pearl strip onto the gorgeous heart lace along the bottom.

and added the butterfly which was given the sparle round the wings with silver stickles

Not forgetting the Happy Birthday sentiment which was matted on the toning papers.
