Anniversary card

I also share my birthday with my friends Wedding anniversary - we attended their wedding up in Scotland 7 years ago & it was a lovely day - can't believe it is 7 yrs ago!! This is the card that is winging it's way up to the Isle of Skye.

The image is coloured with copics & mounted on a matt cut with my round scallop nestabilities. I used my Martha Stewart edge punch & added blooms with a gem brad centre.

I really like the sentiment set that this sentiment stamp comes from.

I used my new sentiment stamp stamped out in opaque white stazon ink mounted on a scalloped circle which I punched out.

Wednesday, 17 March 2010

This is the card for my BIL's birthday - we share the same birthday!! so neither of us forgets :-) As it has to get across to the USA it will be a belated card this year :-( Sorry BIL

The happy birthday sentiment is from my new stamp set & it just fits my Martha Stewart scalloped circle punch.

The car stamp is from another American 50's set of stamps - appropriate I thought.

Multi tasking

Well here I am multi tasking ....................... I'm eating snacks, watching TV & playing Scrabble as well as updating my blog between goes :-) I should explain that I'm away for the weekend - a bit of rest & relaxation ...............................

The challenge was to make a card using turquoise & brown & using a pin, so I used my beautiful paper as backing & used one of my newer stamps which I stamped out using brown stazon onto a background nestability & then tinted the background with turquoise chalks - my chalks have been a bit neglected lately!!

I got the extra points for the pin! Not doing so well at the scrabble atm!!!

Think this is a good boy's card - we all need a stock of those :-)

Bookmark & Serendipity frame

It was my turn to set the member challenge over on Charmed Craft talk forum So the challenges I set were to make seredipity paper & use it in a project of your choice to include blooms & a charm, and to make a usable bookmark to include ribbons & buttons.

So this is how my frame started out..................

Blooms & a charm .........................

More blooms & charms ..............................

Serendipity paper covering the frame ..............

Pearl accents .....................................

The bookmark

To include ribbon & buttons..............

Buttons from my button collection ..................

The body of the bookmark is made from 2 strips of plain ribbon which I stamped with stazon ink. The top attached to a buckle decorated with lace & beads attached. The bottom is knotted with a large covered bead above the buttons.

I decorated the top with beads, lace & a buckle.

There are some lovely makes for the challenge - do pop over for a look .....................

Life in pictures 1

This is my entry for the Life in pictures 1 challenge over at CBC's.

I titled it Who's hands? & used chipboard letters & my own handwriting for the title.

Aren't our nails lovely? Photo taken on Monday at our Pamper day in York.

The answers to the question are in the small envelope as hidden journaling. The envelope was cut using my Sizzix envelope die with my Big Shot. The edges of the matting are cut using my latest Martha Stewart edge punch.

The blooms are just the right colour!

Numbers

This is the card I made for the Crafts by Carolyn challenge Numbers. It's my 'Grand Kitty' Elliot's 4th birthday tomorrow & it will be a surprise when my daughter & son -in-law get this!! LOL

I matted the cupcake stamp which I cut out onto nestability scalloped circles. The 4 is mounted onto a large brad then a plastic circle & a scalloped circle punched out.

The surprise sentiment was matted then put onto the card over the ribbon & the buttons added.

Button it!!

Button it!! is the challenge on CBC that grabbed me today ............................. The challenge is to use buttons, at least 6 in a project - extra points for not making a card. Hope I have fulfilled both criteria.

The centers of the flowers are mother of pearl buttons & the petals are plain & patterned papers punched out using my large flower punches. These are fixed onto wire which is twisted to hold in place.

Another button is glued to the back to finish.

I arranged them in a small vase filled with ............................... more buttons!! & wrapped with a ribbon tied in a bow.

All white or pink or ....................................

I chose blue as my colour for this challenge which was to make a card using one colour only with gold, silver or bronze as an accent.

I used silver as my accent colour with silver stickles & the silver flower embellishment.

The mesh was white so I coloured it using a copic pen

CBC 2010 Birthday challenge week - Pick a letter

This is my card for the Pick a letter challenge in the Crafts by Carolyn 2010 Birthday challenge week on the Crafts by Carolyn forum. The challenge was to chose a letter & include 3 things on your card beginning with that letter. I chose the letter S for stamping, sentiment & spellbinders.

The sentiment is stamped onto a matte made with spellbinders nestabilities.

The stamped image was again stamped onto a larger matte of plain textured cardstock which I inked with distress inks & then stamped the background writing & the image on top. I used my Martha Stewart branch punch for the leaves & my Matha Stewart edge punch to create the double sided strip.

Do try to pop over to CBC, have a look & join in - all welcome it's a very friendly forum :-) You don't have to do all the challenges, you can pick & choose the ones that take your fancy :-) Prizes are on offer ..................

Octopus!!

This card gave my best mate the giggles today :-) It had taken me a while to make it for her - life has been a bit hectic lately ..........................

I found this wonderfully apt cartoon strip in the Herald Sun newspaper in Melbourne Australia whilst I was visiting over Xmas & the New Year.

I'll leave it to Maddy over at Mad Imaginations to tell the tale that explains it all as it's her daughters octopus ......................... in the freezer!!! If she won't tell perhaps we can persuade Calvin Mouse to spill the beans :-)

I used a couple of my Martha Stewart edge punches & some chipboard buttons & white ric rac braid to highlight the important bit .........................................
