Chocolate box

Hmmm - did I fool you into thinking that this was it!
I found this box of gorgeous chocs - yes they are, well I had to test them! *giggle*
The packet contained 2 sections ......

which I made into a Xmas box of special chocs......

Firstly I made the box & lid............
so that it was a snug fit so that the choc's didn't rattle around

Then I decorated the box lid...........
I used die cut snowflakes & tree which were enhanced with stickles & my Sizzix
embossing folder snowman, again enhanced with stickles.

The sentiment was stamped, cut out & mounted with sticky fixers, as was the snowman.
I finished with the cheerful red spotted ribbon - in keeping with the Spots & Stripes theme.

I'd like to enter this for the Allsorts challenge blog challenge, which this week is Spots & Stripes.

Birthday card

It's my friends birthday on Friday - here is her card

I used my friend stamp & my Martha Stewart butterfly punch. there is a butterfly on the stamp & I popped the punched butterfly on top.

Some stripey ribbon & co-ordinating blooms......

And a punched scalloped circle with the circular happy birthday sentiment mounted on sticky fixers to raise it slightly ...................

Love these Papermania papers that I bought on a recent crafty shopping expedition with my mate Maddy .............

Must get this in the post! ............

Another New Home card

For a girlie this time

A crafting friend Carole over at Camcraft Creations reminded me that my nesties could be used slightly differently - there are so many different techniques for everything that the brain sometimes has overload & forgets........
They are embossed straight onto the card rather than cutting & embossing as I've got into a rut doing lately :-)

I stamped the cottage straight onto the card & coloured it with my copics.

I used ribbons & blooms & matted the card so that it has the contrasting boarder round it.
The blooms had purple jeweled centers which I covered in gold stickles which toned in better.

Crafty Cardmakers challenge No 32

The challenge at Crafty Cardmakers is to use a freebie
So I used the freebie visage image that came with Craft Stamper Magazine.
I inked it using timber brown stazon ink.

The bottom edge was cut using my new Tim Holtz die & I used my Martha Stewart edge punches for the strips above, finished off with the strip of heart lace. The with love sentiment I matted using my circle & circle scallop punches & added silver stickles to the edge.

Using the timber brown ink again I stamped the motif  straight onto the background paper & added the blooms over the top.

The butterfly is a Martha Steward punch & I again edged it with silver stickles & popped little dots of silver stickles into the holes at the bottom for added 'bling' when the card is closed.

Think I'm safe ....

.....to post this.
It's the card I've made for my son's birthday on the 27th.
Don't think that he comes in here!

I've layered the image & as it's a big 0 birthday added some sparkle with my gold stickles

The 3 dots are done with stickles & the music notes on the background paper are also emphasised with the sparkle as well as  the numbers.

2 different ribbons - a patterned & a plain & the numbers on the circle then matted onto the scalloped circle (both punches) finished it off.

A Quick New Home card for a fella

Needed a New Home card (for a fella) quickly so popped into my craft room this evening & came up with this
I love the background paper - it's from the Green Stack by DCWV that I got from Australia.

I tried the flower soft that my Mum sent over for me - thanks Mum :-) but kept everything else very simple - just stamping!
I used my nesties for the matting.

Revealed The Art Work!

Look back at the pieces of felt I made in the last post .....

This is the resulting art work!

I added some knots on the trunk & veins on the leaves using thread
Going back to my roots now!!

I used different coloured threads for the veins to give depth

and just attached them to give movement

More of my felting pieces

These are the next 2 pieces of felt that I made on the second workshop I attended.

Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo before cutting into this piece!
It is autumnal colours

This is the piece I made last week. Only managed one piece this week as I took Sophia & Calvin with me - too much talking *giggle* & it was hard work for Sophia & there was a programme on the telly that she wanted to watch so we left a little early *bless her*
We all enjoyed it though :-)

This is a close up of the felted design
It is amazing what you can do with carded wool, water & soap!!

I used Stickles clear rock candy around the ruffles of the dress

I used my nesties for the matting & the stamp was the free one from Craft Stamper magazine stamped onto the scalloped punched circle
I added a heart charm tied with ribbon and 3 buttons to finish.

Felting Workshop

These are the first pieces of felt that I made in the Felting Workshop that I've joined.
I've spent 3 great Thursday evenings making felt in great company :-) the 2 girls that run it are very talented craft people :-)
These pieces are actually purple, yellow & turquoise! but again the camera doesn't pick up the purple colour.

Well blogger is playing up & I can't upload any more photo's at the moment :-(
will blog again later .....................
