According to the rhyme :-) But there are some lovely examples for the Crafts by Carolyn challenge. This is mine.




A quick & simple Christmas card. The Santa sleigh was stamped & embossed with white embossing powder, then I used distress ink to bring out the image which I then punched out & inked the edge. The Christmas paper I won in the Sticky Fixers craft club raffle :-) I then stamped the snowflakes using the same distress ink.

I'm thrilled to be a Challenge Winner!

Just a quick post to say that I'm thrilled to bits after winning the Valentines Card Challenge on DewdropCraftz blog. It was a lovely start to yesterday morning :-) Now I have to choose from all the lovely goodies .................... decisions, decisions, decisions :-) Thank you so much Nikki.

Object D'Art

This was my starting point for the Object D'Art challenge 'The Frame'




This was the finished frame. the photo is of my first car - a Mini (original type!!) I used old car keys & key fobs along with stamps to decorate the alcohol inked base. The Mini wording was die cut using Go Slim Sizzix coloured with whisper pens & highlighted with a silver pen. Metal glue came in useful in this project!



Loved creating this :-) Thanks Jennie for the challenge :-) It's amazing what sort of things you find have been kept isn't it!!

Another card

A birthday card this time. Again using the velum paprer as a background - added some lace & self adhesive ribbon & petals with a pearl brad in the centre. Used one of the elements of the stamp set I got from Creative Treasures which i inked & stamped in different colours.

Valentine Card

Yes I know it's not until next year but Nikki at Dewdrop Craftz has challenged us to make a Valentine card - no red & no flowers - so here is mine :-) all in golds & browns



I backed the card in patterned vellum in white - Ornate floral by Papermania & used double sided 12x12 foil paper Gold border for the rest. The swirl stamp is from the Basic Grey Birds of a feather set & words from the Dovecraft clear stamps & I used punches & inks & of course sticky fixers!

I enjoyed doing this so a big thank you to Nikki for the challenge :-)

Card Holder

A friend of mine in the USA has asked for a few of my cards :-) As they will have to go through the UK & USA postal systems & even though they are individually packaged I thought that they needed a bit more in the way of protection so decided to make a quick holder for them out of a piece of 12x12. It is fastened with ribbons which are tied.

This one is quite plain but it could be decorated up & given as a very nice present :-)

Visitors (with pictures!)

Well here are the first friends that came to play :-) I used Whisper pens to colour. Colouring when you are laid down is not the easiest thing to do! but it kept me busy for a while colouring Pringle & Pen Pal who are are Sugar Nellies.

Next Winifred Rabbit came & I decided to use the new chalks that I got the other day from Tracy at Creative Treasures

Managed some crafting today!

Well I managed a little crafting today. I made a New Home card for friends who are moving countries. If I hadn't got it done they would be well established before I managed it!

And I'm early with this next one! It's not acually needed until Monday when it's our 29th Wedding Anniversary :-) This is unusual for me as I'm usually a bit of a last minute girl where family cards are concerned! Hubby isn't really a hearts & flowers type ...................

Garden book project

I made this book a little while ago as a present using my new to me then Bind it All. I used a stamp which I coloured with my small limited set of Whisper pens supplemented by some chalking. I decoupaged parts on the stamp - some with 2 layers, some with 3. I added the title panel & blooms.

I took it into Sticky Fixers our craft club to finish off the stamping inside - Months & seasons - on one of our free weeks. We try to do a lesson on one week & a free week the next so that we can finish things off or do our own thing - it's nice to see what the members have created :-)

The members liked the idea & asked if I could please to do a lesson to make one. So when Maddy was away, they didn't let me forget & as requested, I took the lesson......................

Winning Card

As I haven't done any crafting in the last few days due to being rushed into hospital for an unexpected op & now recovering I thought that I'd post & show you the card that I won a competition at our local craft shop with. I use part of it for my header image. The images were stamped & chalked then layered & sticky fixers used to adhere. The sentiments are stamped & layered. You can see the real thing at Samuel Taylors shop, Roseville Rd, Leeds :-) It is still pinned up on the board as you walk in.

Altered project

I can now reveal this altered project which I had to keep under wraps until it was given to the recipient :-) It started life as a large tub of herbs :-) I alcohol inked the lid, covered the base in paper which I then stamped. The M is made from a stamp which I cut out & layered & then mounted on a punched scallop circle whith a circle middle punched from the same paper, this was attached using the small pink clip & a brad. I used a jumbo brad & piece of checked ribbon to make the handle.



It is filled with emergency supplies of coffee tea & sugar for my friend Maddy :-)

Vintage Romantic Scrapbook page

This is my 8x8 scrapbook page that we did at Sticky Fixers Craft Club on Thursday - a vintage romantic look. It was Maddy's lesson & we were taught various techniques of tearing & inking & stamping & highlighting. Some of the ladies were a bit reticent about the 'aging' techniques to start but by the end of the lesson seemed to be well into it & tearing & inking with abandon! The results were lovely :-)

We all started off on the same track but then were free to finish off & adorn in our own way. I've allowed the photo to be able to be pulled out as there is my Nan's handwriting on the back that I wanted to be able to access. I just made sure that when sticking things down I didn't stick on top of the photo. The blue swirl on the left was in fact a peacock but I cut off the head & feet when I cut it out & it became a swirl which was highlighted in white gel pen. Loved the idea of adding the heart charm through a tear & mounting it on a thinner piece of lace.

I kept the journaling very simple & did it in handwriting with a fountain pen.
