Visit to Harrogate
Maddy, Calvin & myself went to Harrogate today for our first visit to Art from the Heart. What an Aladdin's cave of wonderful goodies! I just couldn't stop putting goodies into my basket! It was easy to find & is the right side of Harrogate for us Leeds lasses :-) I did worry taking the other two 'old crocks' (both younger than me!!) up the stairway to get there but we were well rewarded for the climb! I got lot's of embellishments & some lovely papers & an Oriental character stamp.
Did have to 'fight' Maddy again - she was after 'MY' bits in the bargain basket! :-) See Crafts by Carolyn for a more detailed account...............................................

Sad day
I've just had to make a difficult card. A sympathy card for the family of a special friend of mine who passed away in the USA on Sunday. We were all saddened to hear of Iris's passing she was a special lady.
I used a beautiful Iris stamp (for obvious reasons) & coloured it with Whisper pens & cut out & raised the image with sticky fixers (large rectangular ones for stability) then stamped the message with the new stamp that I bought at Harrogate Papercraft Fair at the weekend.

Good time at Craft Club
Had a good time at Craft Club today. It was a free week. We have a lesson one week & a free week the next week so that we can finish off from a lesson if we haven't managed to complete or just do our own thing. This is good for us all as we watch & learn from other crafters & then get asked to do a lesson & show everyone a technique or a project ............... that is how I ended up doing a bind it all garden book lesson :-) Everyone liked the book that I'd made & wanted to do one themselves! Think we all must have enjoyed it as people have done more than one ...................
Maddy managed to sort out the trolley with all the craft gear on it & re-discovered crafty stuff that we had forgotten we'd got! It gave us an idea of what we actually need to get at the Harrogate show this weekend :-)

Diamond folding again

Not much actual crafting today
Did a Craft Shop visit this afternoon with Maddy. We had to get some raffle prizes for Craft Club (that is our excuse & we are sticking to it!!) We had a mooch round & found a couple of bits ourselves that had to come home with us :-) You crafters know what ~I mean :-D We were quite restrained bearing in mind that we are going to Harrogate to the Great Northern Papercrafts Extravaganza Cardmaking & Scrapbooking show next weekend so need our pennies for then!
It's our lodger's birthday tomorrow so I had to make a card for him when I got back from Crafty shopping, before I did a viewing at the house & preparing tea & doing some ironing - you know, all the things that get in the way of crafting!!!! ........... Result follows
It's a really nice stamp & I also have the car one too which says Classic. I also did some work on another card but that one is shhhhh atm .............................. will reveal at a later date..............................

Another busy day!
Well another busy day! This time spent demonstrating at Samuel Taylor's. I was doing the Make &Take - the diamond fold card again with the Christmas slant using the Hero Arts birdie stamps - they are so cute that I had to spend my thank you voucher on them :-)
Featured are 2 of my Make & Taker's Dorothy & Florence, Dorothy is an old friend & Florence a new :-)
Look carefully at the pic CraftsbyCarolyn regulars & you can probably make out which sort of craft room I have - & I was trying VERY hard to be tidy in public!! But I have to say we had fun :-D
Hayley, working next to me, did some gorgeous Pergamano work (my Mum would have loved it) - I didn't get pic's :-( but her partner did so maybe I can show you eventually if I can get in touch) - I persuaded him to have a go at my Make & Take & he did a credible job :-) Sshhh don't tell but think that all his family will be getting beautiful handmade diamond fold Xmas cards this year :-)
Rushed back to do house viewings & when I got home found I had visitors .......................

Busy day yesterday!
Well I had a very busy & enjoyable day yesterday. I taught the class at Sticky Fixers Craft Club as Maddy was not well enough to do hers. I did a diamond fold card & we made an envelope as well. Everyone did really well & produced beautiful cards.
Examples that I made in class.
My friend Val & I came back to my house & did a bit of crafting, had lunch & looked on the www. We then collected another friend Joan & we went off to Halifax to Gorilla Crafts to their workshop that we go to once a month.
This is what we made at Gorilla Crafts
I loved doing the flower - made out of double sided paper cut into strips & woven & twisted & stuck - they are very effective. You can make 1 large one or 4 small one's out of 1 12x12" paper.
Got home very late & consequently didn't want to get up this morning - this crafting can be hard work!!

Anniversary Card
This is an anniversary card that I made for my Mum & Dad's 55th Wedding Anniversary. It went all the way to Oz where they now live.
I used the cuttlebug embossing folder which was inked to make the tag base & used gold embossing powder on black card for the figures, which was stamped then cut out. Punched gold hearts at the top & finished with bits of ribbons.

I've finally done it!
Yes I've finally set up a blog! Can't believe I've actually done it! Can't guarantee that it will be as gorgeous as Maddys or as entertaining as Calvins but will hopefully be more up to date than Sticky fixers!!
Busy day tomorrow as I'm teaching at Sticky Fixers Craft Club in the morning & also going to Gorilla Crafts in Halifax for the evening Workshop - long day but fun!
