My December Postcard

The theme for the December postcard swap over on UK Stampers is 'The top of the tree'

I chose a star for the top of my tree & wanted it to be the 'star' of my postcard.

I started with a base of blue card & used blue stazon ink to stamp the background - Santa, presents & Christmas writing

I then stamped my star stamp & Happy Christmas & heat embossed them using gold embossing powder to make them 'pop' & become the focus of the postcard.

I kept the subtleness & stamped the wording underneath the star again using blue stazon ink in a triangle to represent the top of the tree.

I tried various attempts at this using more colour & bling but much preferred this version.

It was very difficult to photograph though, so hope that the recipient finds it better in real life :-)

LIM Monogram

This is my entry for the LIM challenge this week
The theme is Monogram

After a lot of thought I decided to go with
You (U) 're a Star
The U is a plain chipboard letter that I covered with red & then stamped with black lettering

I embossed the star shape with gold heat embossing powder
& mounted them both on black sequin waste cut in a triangular shape.

So there you have it
You are a Star!

Everyone is moving!

Lots of people in my circle seem to be moving .....
so here is another New Home card
Still have another one to make!

I stamped the image & then coloured it with my copics.
then matted the image onto the background pretty 12x12 paper which was matted onto the plain bazil card

I heat embossed the die cut key
and popped it onto the side of the card.
And voila - the New Home card :-)

Competition entry

I took a postcard & used my distress inks to 'age' it
& then used one of my background writing stamps again using distress ink to make the background.

I then stamped the PaperArtsy figures
and the hearts

and the owl post stamp in the appropriate place...

and mounted it onto the background paper on the card.
Finished it off with the ribbon which I stamped directly onto with the Valentine sentiment
& added the brown pearls
and the all important heart for Valentine's Day :-)
The heart was again made from chipboard & heat embossed a technique that I was taught a few years ago at the craft club I belonged to...
