Decisions......

Or

Which do you think hubby chose?

One of the committee members wife was having an op
& so hubby volunteered me to make the card & purchase the flowers!
& I'm not even on the committee! LOL

We do not know the lady so I didn't have any guidance as to her tastes so made two cards & let hubby choose :-)

For the first
I used my background stamp with distress ink
& coloured the flower stamp with copics.
I did two & mounted with sticky fixers to give
a 3D effect
and finished with the get well sentiment stamped straight onto the card.

For the second
I used coordinating papers. I mounted the stamped strip onto the the strip which I edged with my Martha Stewart edge punch.

I used green ribbon & mounted the With Best Wishes sentiment.

So which do you think he chose?
Which would you have chosen?

Seasonal Silver

Over on CHNC this week the theme is Seasonal Silver.
I've had rather a busy week on the non crafting  side of life so am just sneaking in my entry before I'm off out to a gig tonight!

The background is stamped with silver ink, but try as I might it doesn't show up very well on the photo! In real life it is more silvery :-)

I used my Xmas pudding stamp which I coloured with my Copics,
then cut out & mounted on sticky fixers.
Then to finish added the merry christmas sentiment
stamped directly onto the card.

Simple but I hope effective ......

Less is More - Masculine

Just realised that this photo is a little wonky! Whoops!
I can assure you that the card itself isn't!

Over at Less is More this week the theme challenge is Masculine
this is my Masculine card.

I used the 'waste' from a Nestie cut out as a template to create the scalloped circular 'sky' background using distress ink

I then stamped the trees

and the mouse stamp, which I coloured with my Copics

finally adding the birthday wishes sentiment
again stamped directly onto the card

Happy Anniversary!

This is a card I made for friends who got married
on my birthday 8 yrs ago :-)
I was privileged to attend their lovely wedding in Glasgow,
though they now live on the beautiful Isle of Skye which I am yet to visit .
The traditional 8th anniversary is bronze
The modern is lace

So I used embossing powder with this lovely stamp
to provide the 'bronze' & mounted it on brown bazil
which showed up well on the white card.

I added the 'bronzy' metal embellishments
and the lace for the modern element to cover both :-)
and added the brown pearl strip to finish.

Happy Anniversary to Anastasia & Brian :-)
& many happy years to follow :-)

Variation on a theme ................

A friend has had a stressful house move but has finally signed & moved so I needed a New Home card for her.
As I'm into the CAS mode at present this is the card I made.

I used my background stamp, stamped with my distress ink & stamped the cute house motif on top.
I then added the flower motif

and finished with the Home sentiment ...

Just Because

this card is for the One stop craft challenge - clean & simple
I think it fits the bill.....

I used my rectangular background stamp using fired brick distress ink
for the red background
I then stamped the leaf flourish,
& stamped the "just because" sentiment

to finish I added the mesh bloom
& used my trusty red copic pen to colour the centre

I've Gone for Gold!

for the CHNC challenge this week which is go for gold.

As you can see I've gone for gold in a big way with the smooth gold shiny background & the embossed gold paper layered up next,
then the wording stamped & embossed with gold embossing powder
& matted onto the shiny gold paper again.

I added the bow - red with gold pattern

and topped it off with the star which was gold
but I used my copic pen to make it red :-)

So there you have it
I've Gone for Gold!

Off the edge

Over on Less is more this week the theme is "Off the Edge"
to produce a one layer card with no score lines
with part of the image off the edge of the card.....

So I made a New Baby card

I embossed the stork with white embossing powder, & used my copic pens to colour the beak & the baby & blue embossing powder for the baby blanket.

and stamped the sentiment straight onto the card.

Now back to sorting out my craft room which I've been doing for the past few days!!

Celebration time

The forum will celebrate it's 9th birthday on the 12th March.
I've been a member for just over 6 yrs now. How time flies!!

A competition has been organised to make a birthday card for the forum

so here is my effort.

I used these lovely sentiment stamps, stamped onto a background made with my background stamp & distress ink

and made the middle sentiment using my small alphabet stamps.

The cup & saucer is a freebie stamp from Craft Stamper magazine,
stamped onto the same paper as the circular sentiment at the top of the card

which I cut using my scalloped circular nestie & stamped with my new
Just Rite set, & the centre sentiment is another Craft Stamper freebie which I've just used the centre sentiment part of the stamp.

To finish I added the heart shaped button
with the ribbon threaded through & tied in a bow.
The underlying ribbon is the same with ric rac braid on the top.

Xmas embossing

Over on CHNC blog this week it's embossing
this is my entry

I used my Sizzix embossing plates to emboss the holly

and then heat embossed the berries using a glittery red
embossing powder to accentuate them

I stamped out the circular sentiment
& then stamped & embossed the YOU in the same
embossing powder as the berries.
I used plain red to surround the sentiment &
a piece of red ribbon across the card

So there you have it - my entry for Hazel's challenge

I'd also like to enter it for the Bah! Humbug - embossing challenge

Pastel colours

is the theme over on Less is more

I used my Inca rubber stamp Round Pentas stamped in the pastel green
I made a mask of the stamp & stamped over the image with black to give a bit of definition.

I used the image 3 times

and finished by stamping the happy birthday sentiment straight onto the card.

I'd also like to enter this for the Cute Card Thursday challenge - signs of spring

It was TWINS!!

that my daughter delivered -
the first set of twins that she had delivered! :-)
She is nearing the end of her Midwifery training

so I've made this keepsake Congratulations card for her
I used my Sizzix embossing folder, mounted onto the pink paper
(the babies were non identical girls)

I added the pretty lace
& stamped twins using my Papermania alphabet set

& finished off with the 2 handprints, one at the top & one at the bottom of the card which is a Kaiser rubber stamp from Australia

So congratulations to the new family
& to the midwife who brought them into the world :-)

Lets get sentimental

is the theme over on CHNC this week
We were asked to make a card with a sentiment as the focal point.
I chose this sentiment stamp
& stamped it onto the patterned paper & mounted it onto the plain bazil.

I highlighted parts with my gel pen

& added the ribbon & the snowflakes (Sizzix die cuts) which I coloured with Brilliance platinum planet ink

I'd also like to enter this for the Jingle Bells - text me challenge

Another 90th birthday card

this time male
for my brothers FIL over in Australia :-)
I used my Tim Holtz die to shape the card

Stamped out the image, cut it out & mounted it using sticky fixers

I used a punch to cut the scalloped circle, inked the edges & stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment onto it
then added the important 90 numbers .............

I added the flower buckle to the ribbon & paper strip ......

and added the buttons - on a diagonal for a change!
