Glorious Greens

is the colour theme for the Gingersnap Creations challenge
& this is the card I made for my MIL's birthday tomorrow.

Firstly I used 3 or 4 green distress inks to make the background which I then cut into squares & backed with dark green.

I added the ribbon & buttons & the birthday sentiment stamped with green stazon ink, mounted on white card.

The flower/vase image was stamped using the green stazon again & cut out leaving the white border.

The butterflies were punched using my Martha Stewart punch in the dark green backing paper for the base & multi coloured greens for the top, which I enhanced with crackle medium (doesn't show too well in the photo)

So there you have it - Happy Birthday MIL!

Thank you's

Firstly a huge thank you to the Craft Den for this lovely package of goodies that I won on the Anything Goes Challenge Blog Hop :-) Do pop over & have a look - the current challenge is on the theme Here Comes Summer
open until the 28th June

A Pearl & a Paper pen & bunches of blooms ...

Sparkly ribbon & packets of blooms ....

and a bunch of all this gorgeous lace!

I've already used some of the lace on this

Thank You card
which is winging it's way via Royal Mail to Sheffield ...

The rose background was stamped using a Lindsay Mason stamp.
The main image was stamped & then coloured using my distress inks

I used a piece of 12x12 paper for the left hand border &
one of the butterflies (cut using my Martha Stewart punch) & also
the matting of the sentiment. The other butterfly
was punched from the rose background & the sentiment stamped
onto a piece of this as well. I added a piece of the scrumptious
lace between the 2 parts & a piece of red ribbon on the left hand side.

Using a recipe ......

I'm getting ahead & have started making Mothers Day cards ........
This one is using the recipe that Sue provided over on Crafts by Carolyn forum.
A butterfly, a circle & a gem.

I used my nestibilities, the scalloped circle to cut & emboss the circle
then I stamped in the middle
& mounted it onto the striped paper background.

The gem is the pearl in the middle of the flower. I also used my Martha Stewart punch for the leaves
and mounted the flower & leaves onto the ribbon.

The butterfly is punched out using my Martha Stewart punch & double layered & the top layer stickled with silver Stickles.

and to finish I stamped the Happy Mothers Day sentiment straight onto the card.
