New Home card

My niece has just moved into her new flat so I made a new home card for her to celebrate.
I used the American Craft papers - just love the colours :-)

I used my Nestabilities to cut the scalloped circle mounts that frame the Paper Artsy birdcage, which I stamped onto the pink patterned paper.
The Home sentiment is on of my old favourites :-)

The future sentiment is also Paper Artsy treated in the same way.

I cut the branch & leaf motifs from the 12x12 paper (which you can see layered underneath uncut) & popped them over the top - they are not fully glued down so give a bit of dimension to the card.

The birdcage is 'hung' with a large pear brad & blooms finish off the card.

Hope she likes it!

Another Man card

I've been testing out my new Tim Holtz decorative edge die :-) & ended up making this man birthday card.
I love the new decorative edge dies but only have the one atm :-)

I also used my nestability labels die as I had my Big Shot ready to go!
I kept the embellishments low key.

Just the bit of plain co-ordinating ribbon with swirl & the metal buttons.

The image is 2 different stamps, the background is a section of one of my large wooden mounted stamps & the top image is from Paper Artsy - I love their stamps & seem to have 'acquired' quite a few ;-)

A bit of beading

Or should that be crocheting?.....

A crochet wire beaded necklace

This time in black wire with pink & blue beads.

You may remember that I made a few of these necklaces last Xmas as pressies for the girlies in the family. Well they seemed to go down well & my SIL wears hers on a regular basis :-) Nice to know that your work is appreciated :-)

She was wearing it when visiting a family friend who unfortunately has MS. She loved it & asked where she'd got it & I was texted to see if she could commission one with pink & blue beads.

this is the result

think the colours asked for work well together :-)

I made a box for it & lined it with the pink tissue which sets it off nicely.

And decorated the top of the box

Will put it in the post tomorrow.

Man card

I know that I'm not alone, after talking to other crafting friends, in finding male cards quite difficult.

Here is my latest man card on a DIY theme. Could be appropriate for builders/mechanics/joiners maybe?

I used the 12x12 paper of sentiments in a denimy blue & brown colour combination & the ruler ribbon that I bought in Oz & 2 brown buttons from my sizable button collection!

I left a portion of white card which shows up the image of the tools that I printed out.

At the top of the card I used the checked 'manly' ribbon & the metal 'screw' buttons. The other paper used is again printed out.
I finished with the Happy Birthday sentiment in black ink on brown card.

A bit of a change from the girlie hearts & flowers :-)

I'm back! Anybody missed me?

Hi folks I'm back - anybody missed me?
Whilst I was away in Oz my friend texted me to tell me that she had passed her driving test! Well Done Kirsty :-) so this was the first card I made after returning home. Just haven't had chance to blog what I've done lately :-( but I'm beginning to get caught up & hopefully back on track with my blogging :-)

The car image is a stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms, which has sadly closed it's doors, coloured in Copics as is the image from the Holly & Maddison digital download from Charmed Cards & Crafts.
I wrote the number plate & Pass myself.

I made the 'torn' L plate freehand & coloured the L in copics & matted it onto matching red card & then mounted it onto the map (from an old map book) using sticky fixers to raise it slightly.
